Dear Maya

The last time we saw Manisha Koirala in a Bollywood movie was in Chehere: A Modern Day Classic, that no one actually saw when it released in 2015. It feels kinda sad since Manisha Koirala was a very popular actress in the ’90s, having done some amazing work in movies like Bombay, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Dil Se…, Khamoshi and others. However as Bollywood entered the new millennium, Manisha Koiraa found herself doing lesser and lesser roles in Bollywood. Then the cancer scare happened and Manisha Koirala had to take a hiatus from the industry, only to return stronger and hungry for good roles. Now she will be seen next in Dear Maya, in what we can think of as a sort of comeback for the actress. After Raveena in Maatr and now Manisha in this movie, we are glad that there are makers who are willing to write great roles for our heroines who had taken a sabbatical.

Dear Maya is directed by Sunaina Bhatnagar and is scheduled to release on June 2.
